B.C. Lions to Train in Kamloops!
The BC Lions are returning to Kamloops for their 2013 - 2014 training camps!
The BC Lions have announced that Kamloops / TCC / Hillside Stadium will be the host site for their 2010 - 2014 Training Camp!
The BC Lions will stage a three-day Rookie Camp from Thursday, May 30 to Saturday, June 1 with the full squad hitting the field on Sunday June 2. A tentative schedule for the first week of Lions Training Camp is listed below. The Lions will occupy the all-weather surface located at Hillside Stadium adjacent to the beautiful campus of Thompson Rivers University.

According to Jeff Putnam, the city's Sports Development and Business Operations Manager, the City of Kamloops had been pursuing the BC Lions for quite some time and they had expressed interest in Kamloops as a potential training area.
The Lions have previously trained in Kamloops back in 2004 which was before the construction on the Tournament Capital Centre which made it impossible for them to return in 2005. The Lions Football Club mentioned a while back that they were looking for a new location for their training camp. They also mentioned that the drier climate of the Interior of BC is more conducive for maximizing early-season workouts.
