Candy Apple Workshops at The Gourmet Kettle - During the Holidays

The Gourmet Kettle Fudge and Popcorn is running Candy Apple Workshops right through the holidays. Currently, classes take place every Sunday in December from 1-3pm. Then starting December 20th classes will be at 11am, 3pm and 7pm until December 23rd. Classes will be 1pm and 3pm December 27, 28, 29, and 30th. Have some fun and make a personalized gift for mom or dad. The cost is $10.00 per person and everything you need to decorate is included. It's fun for the kids and or the family! The Great Russian Nutcracker @ Interior Savings Centre - November 15, 2013

Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker tells the beloved Christmas story of the girl who falls in love with a Nutcracker Prince – with Russian flair. Praised by the NY Times as “thrilling and expansive,” the 40 impeccably trained Russian dancers leap, spin and lunge as you have never seen before. With elements unique to Moscow Ballet productions and set to Pytor Tchaikovsky’s famous score, Moscow Ballet’s production
features lavish costumes, nine hand-painted backdrops with 3-D ornamentation and fanciful, larger-than-life puppets designed by a Russian master. A must-see show for everyone in the family this holiday season!

Homes for the Holidays - November 23 & 24, 2013

2013 is the 12th Aniversary for the Homes for Holidays in Kamloops. The tour features homes volunteered by local Kamloops residents and decorated by Kamloops' signature designers. Designers work together with florists and retailers to inspire Christmas decor, contemporary flair and I-never-thought-of-that pieces. This year's tour will once again feature many wonderful delights.

Lights in the Night - November 28, 2013

Lights in the Night is the one day of the year when merchants, businesses and service providers come together to throw a holiday party like you have never seen before. Everyone (you, your kids, co-workers, mother, dog, father, cousins, friends) is invited to head down to the core to take part in the fun and festive frolicking.

The Lumiere Lantern Parade will start at 6pm t the Lansdowne Village and proceed to Stuart Wood Elementary for awarding of prizes. To prepare for the big event, there will also be three weeks of lantern-making workshops at Stuart Wood on November, 14, 21, and 28 from 3-6pm.

Rock with Rudolph - November 29, 2013

Rock in the holiday season with Rudolph. Join the Kamloops Museum & Archives for some reindeer games, Christmas tunes, crafts, and activities. Wear your Christmas colours! Parents welcome. Ages 3-5. This fun event takes place from 10am-12pm, and registration is required (#215688).

Artisan Sale & Christmas Tea - November 30, 2013

Kamloops Arts and Craft Club offer many handcrafted items in all price ranges that would make wonderful gifts or stocking stuffers for everyone on your list. The sale and tea will take place at the Heritage House from 10am-3pm.

Santa Clause Parade - November 30, 2013

The city’s biggest outdoor winter celebration with lots of decorated floats, live music, caroling, and entertainment. Fun for the whole family!

Christmas at the Courthouse - November 30 & December 1, 2013

If you have never been inside this heritage building, this is the best time of the year to visit. The Old Courthouse will be filled with high quality crafts and decorated beautifully for Christmas. This event will take place 10am to 4pm both days.

Pick your Tree at Woodward Christmas Trees - November 30 to December 22, 2013

Open daily from 10am to 4pm, you can pick out your own Christmas Tree and sample and buy some local wine. On weekends Woodward Christmas Trees offers hay rides that take you to the trees. Enjoy the concession and a bon fire to follow.  This year they have opened their winery - Privato Vineyard and Winery.  While it is closed for the season, they are reopening it just for the Christmas season for their valued Christmas tree customers. They also have two locations within the city at the Safeway Stores where they bring freshly cut trees from the farm daily.

Pick out your Tree by the Moonlight at Woodward Christmas Trees - December 6 & 13, 2013

Pick out your tree by the moonlight! On Friday December 6th and 13th, Woodward Christmas Trees is open until 9:00 pm. This will be a very special and memorable event.  Using headlamps provided by Woodward you will venture out in to the stillness of the night to pick out your tree.  It's not too far so you'll be able to bring your tree back to your vehicle with ease.  Come back to the huge bon fire and enjoy a hot chocolate and roast hot dogs or bring your own snacks. Their new wine tasting room will also be open for wine tastings. Please phone ahead to let them know you are coming.

Annual Seniors' Christmas Light Tour - December 12, 2013

Every year,  senior citizens (ages 55+) are invited to this FREE annual tour around town to see the best lit spots in the city. The tour involves a bus ride around town followed by Christmas caroles, treats and hot beverages. Pre-registration by December 5th is required (#215496). To register, call 250.828.3500.

Wildlights at the BC Wildlife Park - December 13, 2013 to January 5, 2014

Picture hundreds of thousands of twinkling little lights while bonfires crackle and people sip steaming cups of hot cocoa or apple cider. Wildlights is an annual celebration at the BC Wildlife Park where families and friends gather to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and the many animal sculpture lights. Check out the miniature train too ... this is a MUST event for the Christmas season. Visitors can dare enter the new and larger Giant Maze, take a trip around the park on the Wildlife Express miniature train, enjoy a wagon ride to the North Pole, get entertained by Uncle Chris the Clown who performs nightly, and much more!

CP Holiday Train - December 14, 2013

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train hits the rails again on November 25 and will be visiting over 150 communities across their network. Each event features a boxcar stage, a lineup of great musical talent and a contribution to the local food bank. Everyone who attends is encouraged to donate food and money which stays in their community. The CP Holiday Train will arrive in Kamloops on December 14th at 5:30pm at the north side of Interior Savings on Lorne Street.  Make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before the event start time to see the train pull in.

Christmas with the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra - December 14 & 15, 2013

Taking place at the Sagebrush Theatre is a magical fest of Christmas carols and sugar plum fairies, with young pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, the winner of the 2013 Kamloops Symphony Award.

School District #73 presents Candlelight Carols, featuring the Kamloops Thompson Honour Choir and Kamloops Thompson Children's Choir with special guests Bells of Note.  This event takes place at 6:30pm at the Sagebrush Theatre.  Admission is by donation.

Christmas with the Kamloops Heritage Railway Society - December 19-22, 2013

As a fundraiser to help restore the 2141 Steam Locomotive, hop on board the 2141 and enjoy all the festive decorations and lights! All of your favourite Christmas characters will be there, including Santa Claus! Get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy hot chocolate and goodies in the vintage dining car.

B3 Kings Christmas Concert - December 20, 2013

Building on past years' success, the B3 Kings has become an annual Christmas concert in Kamloops. The B3 Kings perform and sell out of tickets each Christmas. Their take on the classic holiday repertoire is super funky and makes singing along to Christmas tunes fun again! Backed by the propulsive drumming and lush vocals of Denzal Sinclaire, the grooving bass and funky organ of Chris Gestrin, the tasty comping of guitarist Bill Coon and punchy, funky horns of Cory Weeds, The B3 Kings are a must see over the holiday season. Their debut CD “Cellar Live Christmas” has been heralded as one of the best Holiday discs to appear in years.

Parents' Night Out -  December 21, 2013

Need a break? Looking for a night away from the kids? Looking to get the last minute Christmas shopping done? Kamloops Gymnastics and Trampoline Centre presents an opportunity to drop the kids off for a night of gymnastics fun, movies, games and more! Dinner will be provided. This event takes place from 5:30-10pm. Cost is $25 for the first child, $15 for an additional child, and $50 for a family with up to four children. For ages 3-14. Register online.

Christmas at the Kamloops Gymnastics and Trampoline Centre - December 23, 24, 27, 30, 2013 and January 2 & 3, 2014

Small and Tall Drop-In takes place from 11am-12pm for ages 14 months to 5 years.
Holiday Camps for pre-schoolers (3-5 years old) take place from 9-11am or 1-3pm. - $11 per camp, per child.
Holiday Camps for school ages (5-13 years old) take place from 9am-3pm; Children 7+ swim 1:45-2:45pm. - $30 per camp, per child.
