Driving Tour from Whistler to Kamloops, British Columbia

Whistler to Kamloops is approximately 298 kms (185 miles) and 3.5 hours to drive.  Starting in Whistler Resort, you will wind your way down the mountain via Highway 99 (Duffy Road).  This scenic drive from Whistler is full of history with many interesting stops and points of interest along the way.

Starting in Whistler Village, the proud host of the 2010 Winter Olympics - you will find many activities to keep you entertained including canopy walks, hummer tours, jet boating, ziplining and wildlife viewing eco tours. 

40 kilometers past Whistler is the small town of Pemberton.  Must Sees: Nairn Falls and Shadow Lake Demonstration Forest.

The town of Lillooet is next and has a population of just under 3000 people.  Lillooet is known as BC's Little Nugget and was orginally Mile 0 of the Cariboo Gold Rush Trail.  Take in a self-guided tour of the Gold Mile of History, Jade Park featuring 4 huge jade boulders and the Lillooet Museum. 

Marble Canyon Provincial Park is a short drive off the highway and is lined with magnificent limestone cliffs and stunning blue lakes. The lakes offer excellent scuba diving opporunities and sandy beaches.

 Check out historic Hat Creek Ranch and Horsting's Farm in Cache Creek. Cache Creek was historically important as being a cache for fur traders on their way from Kamloops to the Fraser River.

Take an off-road trip up Deadman River Valley Road and check out the Centre of the Universe!

Stop at the Kamloops Lake Lookout for gorgeous view! You may recogonize the view from the back of the orginal Canadian $100 bill.
