The area offers a vast selection of diverse, easy-to-access topography for riders, from desert-like, single-track courses to high-speed alpine riding to exhilarating BMX tracks. Rugged canyons, hoodoos, logging roads, sliders, ramps and kilometers of recreational riding provide bountiful terrain for both adventure and leisure bikers.

The Kamloops Bike Ranch
The Kamloops Bike Ranch mountain bike park is the most technically advanced municipal bike park in the country, attracting expert riders from around the world. 26 hectares of gullies, silt bluffs of pine trees, sagebrush, and open grasslands are waiting to be tested with an elevation change of 132m over its 1.1 km length.
Test out fast-flowing, A-line style downhill trails boasting a multitude of tables and berms rated for the expert rider, a jump park for expert and intermediate riders and a BMX track built according to Canadian Cycling Association standards. Kamloops Bike Ranch Map.
How to get there: Take the Highland Road exit off Hwy 1 East in Valleyview and continue up Highland Road. Park at the top of the road on the left hand side. The trails come out behind the Valleyview Arena.

Just 45 minutes from Kamloops is the ultimate bike park that has earned the status of one of the top five best bike parks in North America (BIKE magazine). Machines have constructed dramatic trails to keep riders railed from turn to turn and to take their own style to the air. Free ride trails that challenge balance on long rides, bridges and stunts, or attempt downhill runs that have hosted some of the top race events in the country. There's also a selection of flowing single track that is suitable for any ability level.

> Kenna Cartwright Park (Mount Dufferin)
One of the premier riding areas for the Intermontane Challenge bike race in 2009. Features an extensive series of trails for all ability levels, through semi-arid and treed terrain. Lots of ups and downs with breathtaking views of the valleys. Access from Hillside Drive (main entrance), Home Depot parking lot, end of Pacific Way (past Duffy’s Pub) and end of McGill Road.
> McArthur Island Park (North Shore)
A paved 2 km circuit around the island offers a leisurely ride. A BMX track is located on the island next to the golf course.
> Kamloops' Rivers Trail
The trail begins in Pioneer Park, goes through Riverside Park and crosses the Overlander Bridge to Schubert Drive and then on to Westsyde, or along Tranquille Rd to McArthur Island Park. This is an easy 16km trail along the beautiful Thompson River. Pathways are paved and the course is flat.
> Stake Lake Trails (off Lac Le Jeune Road)
Well marked and not overly difficult trails are suitable for beginner to intermediate riders featuring grassy double track. Rides include Ponderosa / Drifter/ Cowpoke, Ponderosa/ Sidewinder/ Cowpoke, and McConnell Hill.
