2010 LEGACIES NOW CONNECTING COMMUNITIES TOUR

2010 LEGACIES NOW

2010 Legacies Now is dedicated to strengthening arts, literacy, sport and recreation, physical activity, accessibility and volunteerism in communities throughout British Columbia. As a not-for-profit society, 2010 Legacies Now is creating lasting legacies around the province leading up to and beyond the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Partnering with non-government organizations, the private sector and government, 2010 Legacies Now assists communities to discover and create inclusive social and economic opportunities for all British Columbians. Through these partnerships, communities are creating their own legacies, from which they will benefit long into the future.

2010 LEGACIES NOW CONNECTING COMMUNITIES TOUR

The 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour, presented by Bell and the Province of British Columbia, visits community events and festivals to share the Olympic and Paralympic spirit and encourage British Columbians to create their own legacies leading up to 2010 and beyond. The tour consists of a 200 square-foot display of information panels and interactive activities to inspire British Columbians to become more involved in their communities through arts, literacy, sport and recreation, physical activity and volunteerism. Now in its fourth year, this interactive and educational exhibit will feature interactive games, videos, and community ceremonies with local dignitaries including community leaders, stakeholders, athletes and media.

Visitors to the 2010 Legacies Now Connecting Communities Tour will:
▫ Learn how 2010 Legacies Now is working with the community to develop local programs in arts, literacy, sport and recreation, physical activity and volunteerism
▫ Test their winter sport skills at a miniature indoor curling rink; and
▫ Discover how their community can capitalize on exciting opportunities leading up to the 2010 Winter Games and beyond.
