The BC Lions are returning to Kamloops for their 2010 - 2013 training camps!
BC Lions Training Facilities while they are in Kamloops, BCThe BC Lions have announced that Kamloops / TCC / Hillside Stadium will be the host site for their 2010 - 2013 Training Camp! 2010 being the first of the 4 years.
According to Jeff Putnam, the city's Sports Development and Business Operations Manager, the City of Kamloops had been pursuing the BC Lions for quite some time and they had expressed interest in Kamloops as a potential training area.
The Lions have previously trained in Kamloops back in 2004 which was before the construction on the Tournament Capital Centre and made it impossible for them to return in 2005. The Lions Football Club mentioned a while back that they were looking for a new location for their training camp. They also mentioned that the drier climate of the Interior of BC is more conducive for maximizing early-season workouts.
