>Wildlife Encounters at the BC Wildlife Park

Daily (June through beginning of September 3), the BC Wildlife Park presents "Wildlife Encounters Festival". Get up close with mammals, reptiles and free flying Birds of Prey. Wildlife presentations are three times daily at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 2:30pm.

 

>Boo at the Zoo - New event at the BC Wildlife Park for Halloween.

On October 29, 30 and 30, 2009, the BC Wildlife Park will be hosting its first annual Boo at the Zoo - a Halloween extravaganza that's fun for the whole family!

 

>Wildlights at the BC Wildlife Park

From mid-December through to the beginning of January, the BC Wildlife Park is set aglow with over 400,000 lights creating a vibrant festival of sculptures and a Symphony of Lights at 2009's Wildlights.

Ride behind the fully restored 2141 steam locomotive for in-town runs in the summer featuring a reenactment of the Bill Miner train robbery. Also enjoy special holiday trains in October and December with the Kamloops Heritage Railway.

 

> "Ghost Train" Kamloops Heritage Railway

On a dark and stormy Halloween night in 1915, a train carrying 44 passengers and crew left Kamloops Junction destined for the town of Blue River. The train disappeared into a thick fog while passing through Wolfenden and never reappeared. Many have searched, but none have been able to find any trace of the train, the crew, or the passengers... Since the restoration of the 2141 steam locomotive, strange events have taken place around the time of Halloween. Have the spirits been resurrected on the Ghost Train??

 

> "The Spirit of Christmas" Kamloops Heritage Railway

Join one of Kamloops' Christmas traditions and journey back to a time of family gatherings, carolling, hot chocolate, festive lighting and other memories associated with a Christmas of old.

As the 2141 steam powered heritage train arrives at the station, the steam surrounds her and is illuminated by hundreds of brightly coloured lights. Welcome aboard and travel with fellow guests to bring Santa Claus back to Kamloops. He will be joined by Mrs. Claus, the elves, a Winter Princess, and of course, Frosty the Snowman.

>Bizarre BAZAAR

From June – August, visitors can enjoy Bizarre BAZAAR, a festive weekly art and entertainment fair at the Old Courthouse in Kamloops. Thursday nights in the summertime come alive with music, food prizes and shopping.

 

>Rodeos and Fall Fairs 2009

Dust off the cowboy boots and hat and head out to see cowboys and cowgirls compete for glory and cash at rodeos and fall fairs throughout the summer months in Kamloops and area.
