2019 Tourism Kamloops BOLD Hospitality Awards Nominees Annouced

Kamloops, BC: November 20, 2018 – A record-breaking 72 nominations highlighting 46 unique nominees were received by closing time on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 for the 3rd Annual Tourism Kamloops BOLD Hospitality Awards.  The response was tremendous with 39% of nominations coming from Kamloops visitors, a first for the awards program.   

Nominations were submitted for all 6 awards categories:

  • Accommodation “foh” of the Year – Front of House
  • Accommodation “boh” of the Year – Back of House
  • Food & Beverage “foh” of the Year – Front of House
  • Food & Beverage “boh” of the Year – Back of House
  • Tourism Attractions Leader of the Year
  • Tourism Services Leader of the Year

 
In partnership with the Kamloops Blazers, these awards exist to recognize local hospitality heroes and raise the bar for hospitality throughout the city.  Exceptional customer service, unwavering passion and consistent inspiration are all attributes synonymous with these nominees.
“To grow and build credibility for the program, we launched July 1st to capture visitation during peak tourism season in Kamloops. We are thrilled with the volume of nominations from Kamloops visitors and their comments were sincere and heartfelt. This confirms that when visitors stay here, they receive exceptional service,” says Beverley DeSantis, CEO Tourism Kamloops.
A selection committee of 7 hospitality leaders will review and score the nominations to narrow to three finalists leading to a winner in each category.

Winners will be announced at the awards reception on Wednesday, February 27th at 5:00pm in Sandman Centre’s Valley First Lounge followed by some hometown hockey action as the Kamloops Blazers take on the Tri-City Americans at 7:00pm.
