Tourism Kamloops Wins Best Travel Online Video Campaign Award for #YKA360 Kamera Krew Campaign

Kamloops, British Columbia, August 16, 2018 – Tourism Kamloops’ #YKA360 Kamera Krew Campaign has been selected as the winner of the Best Travel Online Video Campaign Award for 2018. The award was recently announced by the Internet Advertising Competition, which is hosted annually by the Web Marketing Association.
The Web Marketing Association (WMA) was founded in Boston in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development on the World Wide Web. Staffed by volunteers, this organization is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, PR and design professionals who share an interest for improving the quality of advertising, marketing and promotion used to attract visitors to corporate Web sites.
“It is an honour to be recognized by the Web Marketing Association for our #YKA360 Kamera Krew Campaign,” said Tourism Kamloops CEO, Beverley DeSantis. “The Tourism Kamloops team worked hard to bring this campaign to life. Our goal was to feature our amazing city to the world and this award shows that Kamloops is being noticed internationally.”
The #YKA360 Kamera Krew Campaign was launched by Tourism Kamloops in conjunction with the organization’s rebrand in May 2017 and ran throughout the year. The Kamera Krew intercepted visitors and locals, presented them with challenge cards, captured their boldly unscripted moments on video and posted them online for the world to see. The campaign was designed to literally take people off the highway to experience Kamloops and to showcase those experiences online.
The Best Travel Online Video Campaign Award winner is selected by a panel of marketing industry experts who base their decision on seven criteria, including: creativity; innovation; impact; design; copy writing; use of the medium; and memorability. As the award winner, Tourism Kamloops has been recognized on the Association’s website, social media channels and through media. Tourism Kamloops has also received a crystal statue and bragging rights for setting online video campaign trends and making online video campaign news.
