Travelling on a budget? You and the family can have a good time with free summer activities in Kamloops. Here are 6 to start.
Music in the Park
Riverside Park is home to free, live music every night through July and August from 7:00-8:30pm. With a different musician every night, you'll never hear the same band twice. While listening to music, you can also play in the sand, swim in the river, or monkey around on the playground.
Mini Golf at McArthur Island
Bring your putter and golf balls, and visit the newly updated mini golf course at McArthur Island Park on the Shore. All ages and abilities are welcome to play this free 18-hole course. Open from dawn to dusk.
Connect with nature and wide-open spaces along one of Kamloops' hiking trails. Explore 40km of trails with panoramic views in Kenna Cartwright Park, the largest municipal park in BC, or Peterson Creek Nature Park, which includes the accessible trail, the Grasslands Loop.
Did you know there are 100+ lakes within an hour of Kamloops? Lakes with docks are great for first-timers - check out Edith Lake off Highway 5A, Walloper Lake on Lac le Jeune Road, and Paul Lake Provincial Park.
Splash around in one of Kamloops' water parks daily from 10am-8pm until September 2nd. Visit Riverside Park, McDonald Park, Westsyde Centennial Park, Albert McGowan Park, and Prince Charles Park, which includes a wading pool.
