Kamloops is no stranger to playing the scene stealer in classic movies and Hollywood hits like The A-Team, 2012, Power Rangers, and An Unfinished Life.

Did you see the film crews around Kamloops this spring like in downtown? The film industry was back at it, shooting TV shows and movies with Kamloops playing the leading role as backdrop. Catch a glimpse of Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood, strolling downtown or longtime Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson lending a helping hand in the community. Here are some of the movies or shows that have recently wrapped up filming in Kamloops.

Gaslight

This TV series thriller starring Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Kelsey Asbille (Yellowstone), Will Dalton (Loving), and Marc Rissman (Game of Thrones), began filming in June 2021. The nail-biter plot is based on an adaptation from a narrative podcast of the same name and follows the story of a woman’s disappearance. Shot around town in local homes and community hubs, this series is produced by New Regency, who also produced the Hollywood hit The Revenant.

The Edge of Sleep

This post-apocalyptic mystery thriller stars YouTube sensation Mark Fischbach (a.k.a. Markiplier). The series follows a night watchman who discovers that everyone who went to sleep, didn’t wake up the next day. The series was shot at key locations in Kamloops and wrapped up in April 2021.

Just Clicked

This romantic comedy is the first film to be completely shot in Kamloops. The production used local cast and crew, including the lead role going to Elise Gatien, a born and raised Kamloopsian. Viewers will catch shots of downtown, Kamloops’ most beloved breakfast joint, Hello Toast, Brownstone Restaurant, and Riverside Park. The Reel One Entertainment film is set to be released in fall or winter of 2021 and produced in part by local resident Cjay Boisclair who also produced a second film this spring, Listening to Love.

Dangerous

This Canadian action-thriller stars some serious A-list Hollywood talent, including Scott Eastwood (Wrath of Man), Mel Gibson (Braveheart), and Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious series). This action-packed movie was filmed in Kamloops, Kelowna, and at the Quilchena Hotel & Resort just south of Kamloops in the town of Merritt.

Daisy and the Gumboot Kids

This CBC Kids production just wrapped up and was filmed in the Petersen Creek Nature Park and at The Pond Country Market in Barnhartvale, just east of Kamloops.
