Travel Media Update
Kamloops has had the good fortune of attracting a diverse array of travel media this year. As a result of new product and experiences such as the Kamloops Flavours Trail and Kamloops Wine Trail, along with the introduction of Clover at the BC Wildlife Park and Rocky Mountaineer’s 25th Anniversary celebrations, there is certainly lots to talk about!
A huge thank you to all of our partners for your ongoing support! If you would like to inquire about involvement in travel media hosting, please contact Monica Dickinson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here are a few articles showcasing our collaborative efforts:
September is a busy month for travel media initiatives. Tourism Kamloops, along with our DMO partners at Tourism Sun Peaks, Tourism Shuswap and Tourism Vernon will be welcoming four journalists from North Vancouver, South Korea, UK and Australia for a six day exploration of our areas prior to the annual Destination Canada sanctioned media event Go Media Marketplace being held in Penticton September 27 – October 1st. This tour will feature fall outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, and house boating.
Tourism Kamloops will be well represented at Go Media Marketplace this year. In addition to the opportunity to meet face to face with 36 pre-selected travel media from around the globe, Tourism Kamloops has joined forces with Tourism Sun Peaks to sponsor the Destination Canada Award of Excellence luncheon on September 30th. Lunch will feature many of our local flavours as well as showcase our destination through the lens of local photographer Kelly Funk. We look forward to revealing Kamloops and Sun Peaks to this influential audience.
Tourism Kamloops has also enjoyed invitations to three Destination BC Media Dinners in the past few months – Vancouver, Calgary and Seattle. These dinners give the opportunity for face to face meetings with pre-qualified journalists, bloggers and social media influencers in key markets. Each event was well attended with approximately 40 to 50 media as well as Destination BC travel media team members, regional DMO and city DMO partners.
