Holiday festivities are in full force this weekend in Kamloops as the big day nears. Here's your weekend event round-up for December 13-15.

Wildlights Festival

December 13 - January 5

The 22nd Annual Wildlights Festival at the BC Wildlife Park kicks off this Friday from 5-9pm. Enjoy bonfires, animal encounters, and lights displays featuring over 800,000 lights including the new Tunnel of Lights.

 

Christmas with the KSO

December 14 + 15

Listen to seasonal favourites from the Kamloops Symphony & Orchestra during their annual holiday celebration. Christmas with KSO takes place this Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm in the Sagebrush Theatre.

 

Harper Mountain

December 14 + 15

Local hidden gem, Harper Mountain, is opening the Snow Town Tube Park this weekend from 11am-4pm. Take an easy lift ride up for a thrilling slide down, then après tube by the bonfire with hot chocolate. Note: Skiing and snowboarding will be open weather dependent.

 

Sun Peaks Holiday Kick-Off Weekend

December 14 + 15

Kick-off the holiday season at Sun Peaks Resort. Festivities include a holiday artisan market, photos with Santa, free hot chocolate, and $5 sleigh rides. For a full list of events and times, visit sunpeaksresort.com.

 

Kamloops Wineries

December 14 + 15

Enjoy a wine tasting, do some holiday shopping, and pick up your favourite bottle of local wine - all four Kamloops wineries are open this weekend. If you're still in the need for a Christmas Tree, be sure to grab one at Woodward Christmas Tree Farm.

Free Family Flick

December 14 + 15

The Kamloops Film Society has free family flicks at the Paramount Theatre throughout December. Grab the popcorn and catch a matinee of Christmas with the Kranks starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis on Saturday and Sunday at 3:30pm.

 

CP Holiday Train

December 15

The festive CP Holiday Train will roll into Kamloops full steam ahead behind the Sandman Centre at 4:30pm. The cart door will open at 5pm with a free concert from country artists Terri Clark and Dallas Smith. Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Kamloops Food Bank.
