Kamloops in November? A whole mood. The air’s got that just-right chill, the city’s glowing in gold, and there’s adventure (and hot chocolate) around every corner. From trails to the big man in red sightings to holiday markets, it’s the perfect time to lean into cozy season.
Get working on that holiday playlist
You might not be fully ready for Christmas carols and tinsel just yet, but Kamloops has decided to get a head start on the holiday cheer, and honestly, we’re not mad about it. The festivities are rolling in early this year, and the city’s already starting to sparkle with that unmistakable holiday energy.
Meet Pepper
The first Kamloops Christmas Market
This November, Riverside Park is becoming a winter wonderland. From November 21st–30th, the parking lot area around Heritage House will transform into a European-inspired Christmas market, complete with glowing lights, twinkling trees, and the unmistakable scent of something sweet in the air.
Here’s what to look forward to:

For more than 30 years, the Festival of Trees has been a cherished BC holiday tradition, bringing together businesses, organizations, and community members to support the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. This year, the funds raised will help provide essential equipment, support innovative programs, and contribute to research that makes a real difference in children’s health care.
Looking to get involved? You can sponsor a tree, make a donation, or gather your team to decorate a tree and share in the festive fun while supporting a meaningful cause.

Hit the trails before they turn white
Daylight may be ticking down, but that just means less competing with the sun and more time for you on the trail. November brings the crisp air, vibrant skies and a final golden push before winter fully steps in. It’s the perfect time to get outside! Whether you’re hiking or biking, enjoy the trails before they trade dry dirt for white snow.
Hike into the season
The city’s trails fan out across sage‑sprinkled ridges, deep gorges and open grasslands, offering the kind of wide‑open views that make you forget you’re just minutes from downtown. Parks like Kenna Cartwright Nature Park (with its 40 km + of multi‑use trails) and Lac du Bois Grasslands (for sweeping vistas of the Thompson Valley) shine this month. Checkout Kamloops hiking here.
Pedal while you can
Before the first real freeze sets in, our mountain‑bike trails are still ready for action. From flowy single‑track to full freeride runs, the terrain in Kamloops is built for late‑season adventure. Learn more about Kamloops biking here.
