Join us for a special screening of EMERGENCE: Women in the Storm, the powerful new documentary from award-winning Canadian directors Nova Ami and Velcrow Ripper, whose acclaimed film Incandescence was a standout at the 2025 Kamloops Film Festival.
Following the screening, Ami and Ripper will participate in a live Q&A moderated by Dr. Will Garrett-Petts, with representatives Dr. Cheryl Gladu, Dr. Alana Hoare, and Lana Fine from TRU’s Hot Topic Cultural Mapping Research Group and representatives from the Institute for Wildfire Science and Resiliency. They will be joined by subject matter experts and film participants Sheri Lysons (former fire chief of the Adams Lake Indian Band) and Meghan Fandrich (of Lytton) who share their firsthand experiences of wildfire, loss, and community resilience.
