Film Screening & Panel : The Little Things that Run The World

The Little Things that Run the World is a documentary about the decline of insects around the planet and the major impacts that has. It literally is the butterfly effect.

The smallest of creatures – insects – weave together the fabric of all life on our planet. And as Earth undergoes dramatic change due to climate, pollution and other factors, insects are diminishing, threatening innumerable species, whole ecosystems and our food sources.

This documentary untangles the mysteries as to why something so ubiquitous – and seemingly endless – could be on the cusp of disappearing entirely. And it is the story of heroic efforts to save these most vulnerable of creatures.

The film is followed by a panel discussion featuring native bee advocate and author Elaine Sedgman, Thompson Rivers University (TRU) entomologist Rob Higgins and master gardener Megan Renee Blackwell.
