KamCon 2024 is poised to be the biggest yet. Again!

What a wild ride it's been since we began this little project in 2018. One of the most common questions we get is concerning how we've been able to grow year after year after year. Nearly everyone is surprised when they find out that we've grown despite holding our feet squarely on the brakes, careful to not expand beyond our capacity as organizers.

We've always held true to our internal vision for the event. By gamers, for gamers. Every decision goes through the same process. '...will this provide value to folks like us who want to play games and celebrate our past times in a safe, fun and inclusive environment?'

Sure, we've missed the mark on a few details over the years. Turns out having a main-stage with the Freudian Slips or LARP demos 15 feet away from players trying to play some TTRPGs isn't a great idea. (Thanks, 2018) We've learned each and every year, and done our darnedest to avoid repeat issues. That process of learning and evolving continues into 2024.

We have an impressive slate of content locked in for this October. All within an inclusive, family friendly environment.

We've added Cardboard Events this year as a Convention Support App to help manage game scheduling and registration. You can click the link above or go to https://register.cardboardevents.com/kamcon/2024 to buy your passes (Called badges) for this year's festivities.

The thing we're most proud of for this year? Thanks to your amazing support over the last few years we've grown the confidence to know that we'll be successful so long as we continue to follow the models and processes that have gotten us this far. While we are staring down the barrels of our largest event budget ever we have also been able to lower individual pass prices. Our single day pass returns to $30, our weekend pass down to $45. Our Critical Access Pass (including dice, mechanical pencil and t-shirt) is down to only $75! (Not to mention that our mechanical pencils in the swag pack with your CAP badge this year are ZEBRA, a better quality pencil than we've ever had)

Our merchandise takes another step forward with new, unique design themes. It's the year of the Dragon after all. How could we not lean into that? Much of our new merch has not been uploaded to the website. We're specifically holding off for the big weekend for many of those items. There is SO MUCH new stuff and the hype is very, very real.

From the bottom of our hearts, we love you all to the ends of the earth. We started this party back in 2018 so we could play new games with new friends. Seeing you embrace this the way that you have as a community is something else. You're the best. We can't wait to see you in the Campus Activity Centre in October.
