National Day for Truth & Reconciliation Event

September 30, 2025

The City of Kamloops and Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc are cohosting activities for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th. September 30th is a day for reflection, remembrance, and healing for our Indigenous hosts; therefore, there will be activities, education, food and vending on a mutually agreed upon day to walk the reconciliation pathway together.

Activities will include options for cultural learning activities, workshops about intergenerational trauma and healing, and you're invited to visit the educational (and fun) booths and enjoy some delicious food. Lastly, there will be an Orange Shirt Day Walk throughout the grounds, covering what is known in the community as the Moccasin Mile route, a route used annually for a community event that takes participants through the mile-long walk around Tk̓emlúps lands surrounding the school, offices, and arbour.

This event will feature something to do for all ages, and the public is warmly welcome to attend.
