Kamloops is host to an array of annual events year-round; including the Kamloopa Pow Wow, Kamloops Film Festival, BC Wildlife Park's Wild Lights and Music in the Park to name a few. 

Kamloops Performing arts Festival

FEBRUARY

The Kamloops Festival of the Performing Arts showcases a three-week long Festival in February/March. The KFPA promotes education and artistic growth in dance, ballet, modern dance, stage dance, music, choral, harp, guitar, instrumental, piano, strings, voice, speech and dramatic arts.

Canadian Enduro Series

JUNE 

Canadian Enduro Series is an annual event that happens in Kamloops or Sun Peaks every June. The event hosts downhill mountain bike racers from across the world to compete for the Enduro World Series title.

Music in the Park

JULY-AUGUST

From 7:00pm to 8:30pm each evening from July 1st to August 31st each year, visitors and locals are invited to come to the Rotary Bandshell at Riverside Park for FREE musical entertainment by local, national and international musicians. As well, on selected evenings you can check out some more live local music at McDonald Park.

Art in the Park

JULY

An annual event for over 30 years, Art in the Park has become a wonderful showcase and sale of quality art created by local and regional artists. Artists come together with their handmade items, complementing Canada Day Celebrations on July 1st in Riverside Park. An estimated 30,000 people attend Art in the Park and participate in the Canada Day festivities!

Every year in July Kamloops welcomes the world to our beautiful downtown! Professional street performers from our region as well as from across Canada, Europe, and Australia, will converge for our Annual Kamloops International Buskers Festival! Daybreak Rotary Rib Fest

AUGUST

Daybreak Rotary Ribfest takes place on the August Long Weekend in conjunction with Hot Nite in the City, the highly successful Ribfest offers a rib cook-off between five champion barbeque teams; music and entertainment throughout the entire event; entertainment and activities for children and youth, as well as a Refreshment Center and a whole bunch of great vendors.

Hot Nite in the City

AUGUST

Every year for a weekend in August, six city blocks in Kamloops downtown core are closed off to allow street rods, customs, american muscle, sport-compact, british and european, collector, vintage, electric cars, bikes and race competition vehicles to line the streets for the annual Hot Nite in the City Show 'n' Shine. Admission to the event is FREE. The event kicks off on the Friday with a poker run for drivers who have registered for the show (and their riders) and the Saturday is when the general public can check out the vehicles and entertainment.

Kamloopa Powwow

AUGUST

Around a thousand dancers and many more spectators join in Kamloops for the annual Kamloopa Powwow, one of the largest celebrations of First Nations’ culture and heritage in Western Canada! The Powwow is a spectacular expression of the Secwepemc people’s heritage and is a vibrant display of storytelling, song, and dance in traditional regalia. Kamloopa Powwow represents many years of stories and events from previous years packed into three exciting days.

Pride Week

Kamloops Pride Week is a week or events hosted around the city to show support of LGBTQ2S+. Join the fun and games with a closing parade downtown.

Children's Arts Festival

SEPTEMBER

The Kamloops Children’s Arts Festival is a fun-filled, creative day of artistic, musical and theatrical activities and performances for children ages 2 to 12. The entire day is FREE for children and their families at Riverside Park. The Kamloops Arts Council enlists artists and non-profit groups to facilitate interactive workshops in visual art, dance, music, theatre and more. Musicians, storytellers, actors and dancers – both professional headliners and local groups – take to the stage.

Adams River Salmon Run

SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER

Every fall from September to October millions of Sockeye Salmon make their final journey upstream to the Adams River to lay their eggs, just 40 minutes east of Kamloops. Spectators can marvel at the natural wonder, thanks to viewing platforms on-site at the Tsútswecw Provincial Park (Roderick Haig-Brown).

Boo at the Zoo

OCTOBER

Boo at the Zoo at the BC Wildlife Park offers Halloween-themed fun for all! Featuring Uncle Chris the Clown, 100's of light features and of course the Wildlife Express; there is something to excite all ages!

Wildlights at the BC Wildlife Park

DECEMBER + JANUARY

Wildlights are an annual winter celebration at the BC Wildlife Park where families and friends gather to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and the many lights. Visitors can take a trip around the park on the Wildlife Express miniature train, warm up around the campfire while sipping on hot chocolate, watch one of our animal feedings, enjoy a wagon ride to the North Pole, and be entertained by Uncle Chris the Clown who performs nightly.

CP Holiday Train

DECEMBER

Every year the CPR sets out and entertains hundreds of thousands of people, celebrating over 20 years of collecting food and raising funds for food banks across North America. The Canadian train departs Montreal in November and follows CP’s tracks west to Vancouver. Performing free concerts from Montreal to Calgary. 

The Kamloops leg of the tour stops in December at the Northside of Sandman Centre parking lot on Lorne Street. The train arrives approximately at 4:30, a band will play from 5-5:30 before the train departs and heads to Savona.
