Where The Wild Things Are presented by Western Canada Theatre

September 23 - 27, 2026

Max is Wild. That’s what his mother said when she sent him to bed without supper for creating a ruckus. But something unexpected happens in the dark of his bedroom. A forest grows up around him. A sea rolls by. Max climbs into a waiting boat and sails off to find the place where the Wild Things live. Maurice Sendak’s renowned children’s book comes to life in this energetic, interactive story. Young audiences get to follow Max on his grand adventure, discover their own inner “Wild Thing” and take part in a “wild rumpus,” before it’s time to help Max return home to a warm supper and a warm bed. The play encourages children to be brave with their imaginations and their emotions, and to remember how to find their way back to safety when it’s time.
