No plans yet for Family Day, snow problem.
From board game rentals to snowshoe shenanigans, here are five ways to entertain the entire household (and save on attractions) over the Family Day weekend in Kamloops.
Stay close to home to experience a family winter wonderland at Harper Mountain on Family Day. Hit the slopes for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, or tubing. Be sure to après in style with their infamous hot chocolate and poutine at the rustic day lodge.
Fun & Games Kamloops
Conveniently located near family-friendly restaurants (Pacific Taco, anyone?) Fun & Games is open year-round to burn off some energy. The arcade has been renovated and now has an exclusive lounge for a round of billiards, bumper pool, or board games.
Picked the short straw for cooking over the weekend? Leave the meal prep to someone else and order a family serving of fried chicken at Chester’s Chicken on your way back from Harper Mountain.
BC Wildlife Park
Wander through indoor and outdoor exhibits at the BC Wildlife Park, just 15 minutes east of downtown. The park is home to more than 65 species of animals – ranging from rattlesnakes to cougars to grizzly bears – and offers exciting educational programs for curious kiddos.
Paramount Theatre at Kamloops Film Society
Top off the long weekend by relaxing with family flicks with the Kamloops Film Society at the Paramount Theatre. Private bookings for up to six people are available on request. Masks mandatory, pajamas optional.
Monday, February 21st is the statutory holiday for Family Day in British Columbia. Business operations may be adjusted, so please know before you go by checking hours of operation online, or by calling directly. Click here for the events calendar.
