Tourism Kamloops is thrilled to launch our newest initiative, the Loops Explorer Station. Located in downtown Kamloops, the Explorer Station will serve as a community hub for visitors and residents alike. This activation helps demonstrates our leadership in visitor engagement, by meeting visitors where they are and proactively initiating conversations. We’re launching the Loops Explorer Station with a bang on July 21st, hosting a launch party for Kamloopsians and visitors to come and experience our latest way of connecting with the community.

The Loops Explorer Station is a one-stop shop to connect with our BOLD Street Team - they’ll be there every day, armed with the hottest tips, advice, and wayfinding to make the most out of a stay in Kamloops. Visiting the station is a must stop on your larger journey exploring everything our city has to offer. The Loops Explorer Station is also set to become a destination in itself - with pop-ups from local businesses, live art and cultural installations, and unique events, there’s always something exciting happening. Our 2022 economic impact numbers show that over 1.9 million visitors directly spent $310 million in our community last year. Establishing the Loops Explorer Station in the heart of downtown Kamloops enables our Visitor Experience team to meet visitors where they’re at and connect them with the best Kamloops has to offer. The Explorer Station has been designed to meet the diverse needs of the travellers visiting our community - for example, we offer extended operating hours to meet guests coming in late from the Rocky Mountaineer.
The Loops Explorer Station is key initiative identified in Tourism Kamloops’ destination development strategy to ensure continued growth in visitation and positive economic and social impacts on our residents. By activating a space in downtown Kamloops where visitors are already immersing themselves, we’re setting a new standard for visitor engagement. Rather than expecting them to come to us, we’re proactively reaching out and setting a new standard by meeting them in the community.
