Why Zoom?

In recent months, Zoom has become a popular platform for businesses, individuals, and community groups to come together virtually. Zoom is increasingly popular because it is free, can be used on your phone or laptop, and is relatively simple to use once you have mastered the basics.

Communicate in a Meeting

Large meetings or webinars may be setup so that participants microphones are muted and videos are not visible. However, smaller meetings are a great opportunity to turn your video on and see who you are speaking with.

In the bottom left of the video screen, there is a video icon that you can turn on/off to be visible to participants. Similarly, there is a microphone button to mute yourself.

Zoom has a list of free resources to support users host meetings, record webinars, other more.

Please connect with the Tourism Kamloops team if you have any questions about upcoming training sessions or want to test out Zoom.
