January 25, 2024. Kamloops, B.C.: Tourism Kamloops launched our Winter 2024 campaign, "Snowplace like Kamloops” on January 16, 2024. This campaign celebrates Kamloops’ wide-open spaces and the endless opportunities for winter play and connection that nature brings.
Showcasing a variety of snow experiences paired with unique offerings of Kamloops' dining and arts & culture scenes, the campaign is targeted towards the BC Lower Mainland (from Vancouver to Hope), Vancouver Island (Victoria to Nanaimo), and Alberta (from Calgary to Edmonton). Our goal is to reach snow sports fanatics, winter wanderers, road trip enthusiasts, and those who just want to cozy up on weekends with a bit of culture and good food.
We continue with a digital-first approach - Meta has become a reliable go-to, with a healthy mix of paid and organic content highlighted in all stages of the campaign funnel. We’re continuing to invest in Google with a Performance Max campaign and a grant account to ensure we keep reaching a broad audience.
With some exciting media placement planned, we’ll see coverage from Glacier Media with Castanet, Vancouver Is Awesome, the Victoria Times Colonist, and Curiocity across Vancouver, Calgary, and all of Canada. Our continuing mobile campaign with Bell Media is focused on verified walk-ins, with a focus on that same winter messaging. Through this, we’ll connect with the thrill seekers, winter aficionado, road trip lovers, and other audiences who've already checked out our online home.
When it comes to navigating the snowy wonders of Kamloops and savouring the local culinary delights, we’re excited to partner with Vancouver-based influencer @eatingwithkirby. She has been sharing the lowdown on snow experiences at Harper Mountain and Stake Lake and dishing out the details on the town's dining delights, especially during dine-around season. Kirby will be serving as a virtual tour guide through the best of Kamloops this season!
Our campaign investment ensures maximum impact and engagement this season. We closely monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like engagement rates, reach, website traffic, and influencer-driven conversions. By closely tracking our ROI, we’re aiming to ensure that every dollar invested contributes to the success of our "Snowplace like Kamloops" campaign.
