Crowdriff held their inaugural SEE 2019 conference in Toronto from November 8-9, 2019 bringing travel and tourism organizations in one place to chat about user generated content (UGC). As a client since 2014/15, Tourism Kamloops attended and heard from keynote speakers who are well versed in the industry, networked with global Destination Marketing Organizations, and dove deeper into how UGC can be used effectively in our content marketing.

A strong line-up of speakers took to the stage to share the knowledge that has worked within their organizations like Rafat Ali, CEO of Skift. Keynote Speaker Annie Griffiths, the first female photographer for National Geographic, was an incredible storyteller providing key takeaways for delegates to implement such as humanize your image, intimacy and humour are what bring a story to life.

A key highlight from the conference was the hands-on workshops. They ranged from learning Instagram techniques from Food and Travel Journalist, Suresh Doss, to how to include diversity and inclusion into your content plan.

During the awards reception, Tourism Kamloops took home the Best Visual Storytelling Award for the 'Meet the Locals' campaign. This campaign started in 2019 featuring stories told through Kamloops locals using video, photos, blogs, and social media. Keep an eye on our channels throughout 2020 as we release more visual stories from our wonderful Kamloopsians.
