We are so excited and we just can’t hide it. With travel around BC resuming on June 15 and now across Canada on July 1, our industry can see light at the end of the tunnel. We’re ready more than ever to welcome visitors back to #explorekamloops... in bold fashion of course.

Here is a little insight into what we have in the cooker for marketing in the coming months:

Burst Your Bubble in Kamloops

With the announcement of BC moving into Phase 2 of BC’s Restart Plan on June 15, the competition remains fierce. Our team worked with One Peak Creative to create videos using existing b-roll and injecting humour to ensure we would stand out online - we are locked, loaded, and ready to burst bubbles this summer! The Burst Your Bubble campaign encourages visitors to escape their home/hometown with their family or escape their family and explore with their closest friends whom they haven’t seen in months.

CAMPAIGN SPECIFICS:

  • 3 videos
  • 3 blogs/itineraries
  • Sponsored content on Vancouver Is Awesome, Daily Hive, Black Press Media & Post Media
  • Organic and paid advertising

Burst Your Bubble will run until the beginning of September where we will send it off with a final hurrah. Stay tuned!

The Concession

Did you hear the news?? Tourism Kamloops in partnership with the City of Kamloops has launched a fun summer pilot project. The Concession at Riverside Park is officially sizzling with summer fun! Open daily from 12pm-8pm until September 7th, visitors and locals can rent out water bikes and kayaks, beach fun & lawn games, indulge at food trucks, groove to tunes and more! Click here to see what all the buzz is about.

Passions

Passions-based marketing remains a top priority as we move through summer and into the off season. We amplify engaging content through our channels that highlight Kamloops’ key travel motivating experiences to stand apart from competing destinations.

  • Rugged, wide-open landscape
  • Hiking and biking trails in close proximity to city
  • Award-winning golf and wine (one of BC’s newest wine regions)
  • 100+ lakes for paddling and fishing
  • Emerging craft beer scene

Events are coming back baby! Tourism Kamloops is spreading the word on virtual and in-person events starting back up.  Events following appropriate safety protocols will be featured. Are you cooking up plans for a signature Kamloops event? Let’s chat and see how we can work together.
