For Immediate Release

June 4, 2021 – This week, Tourism Kamloops’ visitor experience ambassadors are popping back up around the city. Preparing for the summer season and the gradual return of domestic travel, the BOLD Street Team will be hitting the streets, at the markets, on the trails and at key attractions in the coming months. Launched in 2020, Tourism Kamloops’ visitor services were transitioned beyond the traditional bricks and mortar Visitor Centre to offer a focused engagement strategy connecting with our visitors and residents at notable locations across the city.

“We’ve been successful in receiving funding from Service Canada’s Summer Jobs grant to employ 4 seasonal BOLD Street Team members this year. Additionally, we have partnered with the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association (KCBIA) to hire a coordinator to streamline visitor engagement with both the KCBIA CAP (Customer Care and Patrol) and BOLD Street Teams. This ensures our people are reaching all corners of the city providing unified support to both visitors and residents recreating in popular areas,” says Beverley DeSantis, Tourism Kamloops CEO.

The BOLD Street Team will be popping up 5 days each week from Wednesday through Sunday. The Team can also be found at The Concession in Riverside Park supporting Tourism Kamloops’ new pilot project with the City of Kamloops to activate our signature downtown park. Follow our BOLD Street Team by visiting their full online schedule.

The Team can easily be identified by locating the branded Jeep and trailer – an ongoing partnership with Rivershore Ram who supported Tourism Kamloops’ transition to mobile visitor services.

After hours, the BOLD Street Team can be easily contacted through Tourism Kamloops’ social channels, by email or by calling 778-586-8687. An “always on” approach puts connection at the forefront of Kamloops’ visitor experience and prioritizes exceptional visitor services.

“Our BOLD Street Team is looking forward to welcoming visitors back and sharing insights, tips and local hot spots,” adds DeSantis. “This year, especially, we have an opportunity to encourage our visitors to stay longer, explore deeper and really get to know why we love to live, work and play in this special place.”
