Press Release - Tourism Kamloops Launches 2025 Resident Sentiment Survey

For Immediate Release – Kamloops, B.C. — June 2, 2025 — Tourism Kamloops is inviting residents to participate in its annual Resident Sentiment Survey, launching the week of June 5. This brief and anonymous survey offers locals a chance to share their perspectives on how tourism is shaping life in Kamloops.
Rooted in a community-first approach, this initiative is part of Tourism Kamloops’ ongoing commitment to listening to residents and using their feedback to inform strategic planning. The survey asks residents to reflect on a wide range of themes, spanning the economy, infrastructure, public spaces, cultural vibrancy, and overall community well-being. The insights gathered will help guide tourism strategies that benefit both visitors and those who call Kamloops home.
“Kamloops is a city with a strong sense of identity and a passionate community,” says Lisa White, Director of Community Development & Engagement at Tourism Kamloops. “This survey is a chance for residents to tell us how tourism fits into their lives—what’s working, what’s not, and where we can do better.”
She adds, “Local insight is key to shaping strategies that are meaningful and responsive. We want to ensure the direction we take truly reflects the voices of those who live here.”
By taking part in the survey, residents can play an active role in shaping how tourism evolves in Kamloops. This feedback is more than data—it directly informs the decisions Tourism Kamloops makes to support a thriving, inclusive, and community-aligned tourism economy.
The survey will be conducted through a mix of phone interviews and a public online portal available later this month. Residents may receive a call from a polling firm inviting them to participate; however, individual targeting is not possible and calls will be made at random. Everyone who is contacted is encouraged to take part, and the survey only takes a few minutes to complete.
