For Immediate Release
KAMLOOPS, BC — Tourism Kamloops has officially opened the Loop's Explore Station at Riverside Park, marking the start of a full summer season of programming designed for residents and visitors alike. The station operates six days a week through the Labour Day long weekend, with extended hours through July and August.
Now in its fourth season, The Explorer Station brings together a growing mix of services and rental options in one accessible riverside location. With financial support from the City of Kamloops and the Government of BC, free, secure bike parking will be available throughout the season for anyone arriving on two wheels. Bird scooters and e-bikes are accessible on site, and paddle sport equipment and roller skates can be rented through Okanagan Affordable Rentals.
Tourism Kamloops' Roam Ambassador team will be present daily to connect locals and visitors with recommendations, event listings, and activity ideas across the city. Kamloops-branded merchandise is also available for purchase, including water bottles, lanyards, postcards, and souvenir items.
"There's something really special about watching someone rent a paddleboard for the first time or ask a Roam Ambassador where to grab lunch after a ride. That's what Riverside Park is all about this summer, and we can't wait to welcome the community back," said Lisa White, Director of Community Development and Engagement, Tourism Kamloops.
The station operates from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., closed Tuesdays, with hours extending in July and August. The initiative supports Tourism Kamloops' broader commitment to active transportation, sustainable tourism, and creating year-round vibrancy in Kamloops' downtown core.
