The heart of any great city is its people, the ones who pour their passion, creativity, and energy into making their community thrive. In Kamloops, Aayush Bhutani is one of those people.
As the Front Office Manager at Scott's Inn, Aayush brings a decade of international experience and a genuine passion for service to every guest interaction. His journey has taken him from India to New Zealand and now to Kamloops, where he's discovered a place that speaks to something deeper, the quietness, the views, and the opportunity to grow in an industry he loves.
With two years in Kamloops and a career ambition that reaches all the way to the CEO level, Aayush represents the kind of driven, service-minded professional that makes our tourism industry shine. What brought him here? Simple: the desire to explore. What keeps him engaged? The daily opportunity to connect with people and deliver exceptional experiences at Scott's Inn.
We're excited to spotlight a Kamloops hospitality champion like Aayush!
TK: Aayush, how did you first get into the tourism industry?
"I completed my bachelor's in Hospitality Management. I developed a passion for studying the field, and I realized that this is truly what I want to pursue."
Unlike those who stumble into hospitality by chance, Aayush's path was intentional from the start. His academic foundation in Hospitality Management gave him the technical knowledge, but it was during his studies that something clicked, this wasn't just a career choice, it was a calling. That clarity has carried him through a decade of work across three countries, building skills and perspectives that now benefit the guests who check into Scott's Inn.
TK: That's dedication! What fuels you? What drives your passion for the work you do?
"I enjoy managing people, interacting with different kinds of individuals, and providing them with the best possible service."
For Aayush, hospitality is fundamentally about people. It's the diversity of personalities, the challenge of understanding different needs, and the satisfaction of exceeding expectations that gets him out of bed each morning. As the Front Office Manager at Scott's Inn, he's often the first and last impression a guest has of their Kamloops experience, and he takes that responsibility seriously. His 10 years of experience across India, New Zealand, and now Canada have taught him that excellent service transcends borders and cultures. That global perspective shapes how he leads his team and welcomes every traveler who walks through the doors.
TK: On your day off, what's your absolute favourite thing to do in Kamloops?
"Sitting quietly at McArthur Park."
There's something beautifully fitting about a hospitality professional who spends his days managing the energy and needs of countless people finding his peace in the quiet stillness of McArthur Island Park. Whether it's the riverside trails, the open green spaces, or simply the chance to disconnect and recharge, this local gem offers Aayush exactly what he needs to reset. It's a reminder that even those who dedicate themselves to serving others need moments of stillness, and Kamloops delivers that in abundance.
TK: What makes Kamloops stand out for you?
"Quietness, Amazing views."
Coming from someone who's worked in the bustling hospitality scenes of India and New Zealand, Aayush's appreciation for Kamloops' quietness speaks volumes. The city offers something increasingly rare, a pace that allows you to breathe, to notice the landscape, to actually see the mountains that frame the valley. For someone in a fast-paced, guest-facing role, that contrast makes Kamloops not just a place to work, but a place to truly live. It's that quality of life that helps him bring his best self to work every day, ensuring guests at Scott's Inn experience genuine warmth and care.
With ambitious goals that include reaching CEO level in the hospitality industry, Aayush Bhutani is building his career one exceptional guest experience at a time. His international perspective, combined with his appreciation for what makes Kamloops unique, positions him as exactly the kind of professional our tourism industry needs, someone who sees the potential, respects the place, and delivers service that makes visitors want to return.
For those who encounter Aayush during their stay at Scott's Inn, expect professionalism shaped by global experience and a genuine commitment to making your visit memorable. Whether you're passing through or staying awhile, you'll find someone at the front desk who understands that hospitality is about more than just checking boxes, it's about creating moments that matter. In a city known for its natural beauty and warm hospitality, Aayush is helping ensure that the welcome matches the landscape.
