The heart of any great city is its people—the ones who pour their passion, creativity, and energy into making their community thrive. In Kamloops, Maeghan Summers is one of those people!
As the Operations Manager and Partner of The Noble Pig Brewhouse and Underbelly, Maeghan has dedicated her career to hospitality, community engagement, and championing the power of shared experiences.
Maeghan was born and raised in Kamloops, and while she spent some time away, it was The Noble Pig that brought her back home—a decision she calls the "BEST choice ever!"
Since returning, she has been an integral part of the city’s growing hospitality scene, helping to make The Noble Pig and Underbelly staples in Kamloops' vibrant dining culture.
We’re excited to spotlight a Kamloops champion like Maeghan!
TK: So, Meghan — how did you first get into the tourism industry?
“I wanted a dirk bike so I got a job at age 9 serving a Blazers banquet. I worked several catering gigs that summer, and yes — I purchased my first dirt bike for $411 and loved my 1984 XR80!”
What started as a means to an end quickly became a passion, setting her on a path that would ultimately shape Kamloops’ food and beverage landscape.
TK: That’s a great story! You’re clearly a passionate individual… What drives your passion in the hospitality industry?
“We are the gatekeepers to moments in time that guests hang onto for life,” Maeghan shared on her mindset. “What a gift we have in hospitality.”
A leader in the industry, Maeghan is passionate about pushing hospitality forward in Kamloops, inspiring others to see the opportunities the city has to offer. Her vision goes beyond simply operating a successful business—she’s committed to making a meaningful impact in the community.
Her team walks the walk, not just talks the talk, and one milestone in particular speaks volumes: The Noble Pig and Underbelly have contributed $9 million to Kamloops’ local food community.
Supporting local producers, showcasing regional flavors, and investing back into Kamloops isn’t just a goal—it’s a core value.
TK: Amazing! You and the team have been busy. On your day off, what’s your favourite thing to do here?
“I love living by the river and taking in a sunny day off my deck while sipping a local beverage and snacking on a charcuterie plate full of Kamloops eats,” Maeghan shared.
TK: That’s making us excited for the summer! Last question: what makes Kamloops stand out for you?
“The level of engagement from the community leaders! We are an involved business community and we genuinely care about seeing Kamloops thrive. From local events like ribfest to our smaller community fundraisers that better our home town, there seems to be a large level of community spirit here,” Maeghan noted.
With deep roots in Kamloops and a clear vision for its future in hospitality, Maeghan continues to lead by example—inspiring change, fostering community, and proving that great food and drink are just the beginning of what makes Kamloops special.
For those looking to experience her impact firsthand, a visit to The Noble Pig or Underbelly is a must. Whether it’s a perfectly poured craft beer, a thoughtfully curated dish, or a warm welcome from a team that truly cares, Maeghan’s work is woven into every detail.
