The Kamloops Heritage Railway operates the 1912 steam locomotive 2141 on behalf of the City of Kamloops. Lovingly restored over an eight-year period with over 80,000 hours of volunteer labour, she steamed up in 2001 for the first time since she was retired in 1958. Saved from the scrap yard, she now operates and pulls a heritage train to and from the downtown area. The Spirit of Kamloops - July and August Enjoy a 1-hour railtour in Kamloops including a reenactment of the famous 1906 Bill Miner train robbery. Open air cars, heritage coaches and a caboose are available for this trip. The Ghost Train - October Join the crew and passengers of a train that went missing on a dark and stormy Halloween night in 1915. Join them if you dare for a dark and mysterious tale of lost love, deceit, murder and unspeakable horror. Open air cars, heritage coaches and a caboose are available for this trip. The Spirit of Christmas - December Just before Christmas, join a cast of familiar Christmas characters as they travel to pick up Santa Claus and return him to Kamloops.
