SPRING, SUMMER, FALL ATTRACTIONS

BC Wildlife Park

The BC Wildlife Park is home to nearly 200 animals and 65 different species, all native to British Columbia including cougars, grizzly bears, arctic wolves, reptiles, birds of prey and the only Spirit Bear in human care in the world. The majority of animals at the Park have been rescued or were orphaned and are unable to survive on their own in the wild. Take in one of the many signature annual events including Easter Eggcitment, Boo at the Zoo, and Wildlights!

Bruker Marina

49 Marina Bay Road, Tobiano

Spend the day on Kamloops Lake at Bruker Marina. Choose from watersports rentals (including paddleboards, kayaks, sea-doos, and speed boats) or simply splash along the lakeshore and jump on the water trampoline. 

Brock Pool

2470 Fleetwood Ave

Make a splash this summer at the Brock Outdoor Pool. Open seasonally from June to September, the pool features 8 swim lanes, 25 meter outdoor pool, tot pool, 1m and 3m diving boards and a slide.

Erin Valley Riding Stables

Experience Kamloops in a unique way, on horseback. No experience is necessary for the trail rides as you will be accompanied by a trained wrangler.

Geocaching

Take the family out Geocaching, a fun and challenging outdoor adventure where you have to find hidden treasures with GPS coordinates. There are hundreds of locations throughout the city, province and even the world. Download the app on your phone. It's a world of fun for any age or ability. 

Kamloops Heritage Railway

Take a Backshop Tour with the Kamloops Heritage Railway. Learn about the history of all of our rolling stock, static stock, and our glorious steam locomotive 2141. Hear stories of KHR, the railway and some of the interesting people attached to them. 

 

Kamloops Farmers Market

Grab a coffee and browse local products with most vendors from within 100km of Kamloops. Vendors include locally grown products, prepared food artisans, and home-based businesses.

Kweseltken Farmers & Artisan Market

Meaning “relatives” in the Secwépemc language, this market brings an authentic cultural experience to the Kamloops area. Visitors will find traditional foods, medicines, and handmade artisan products, as well as fresh meats, eggs, fruits, vegetables, and much more every week. The space is welcoming to all and offers a unique, lively atmosphere with drum circles, singers, and other live performers.

Little Farmers Petting Zoo

Kamloops Longboard Park

Skate down the world’s first longboard park. Pack your helmet and longboard and try out one of two tracks; an easier route or a more advanced one.

Kamloops Mounted Patrol

Riverside Park

Say “Hi” to the coolest horses around. You can find the Kamloops Mounted Patrol each night at the Rocky Mountaineer Train station or in Riverside Park.

Kamloops Paintball

Harper Mountain

Splatmaster Paintball is a low impact version of paintball that uses lower velocity markers and a smaller paintball for less impact but more fun. For kids 9+.

WINTER ATTRACTIONS

Harper Mountain Ski Resort

2580 Harper Mountain Road

20 minutes from Kamloops is family-friendly ski resort Harper Mountain. Enjoy the hill by downhill skiing or snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and the lift operated Snow Town Tube Park.

Sun Peaks Resort

1280 Alpine Road

Sun Peaks Resort has experiences for kids of all ages both in winter and summer. In winter, try nordic skiing, snowshoeing, or skating. Take ski or snowboard lessons from the pros, or take a dogsled or horse-drawn tour. During summer, choose from the bungee trampoline to the lift-accessed bike park, canoe and hiking tours, and even horseback riding.

Stake Lake Ski Trails

Just a short 20-minute drive outside of Kamloops, and home to the Overlander Ski Club, Stake Lake Nordic Centre boasts over 60km of quality, scenic cross-country ski trails. These well-maintained, groomed trails are suitable for all levels and ages. A terrain park and snowshoe trails are also available here.
