Official Rules and Regulations
Please read these official rules and regulations (the “Official Rules”) before entering the Contest.
Sponsor
The Kamloops Freeride Lives Here Giveaway (the "Contest") is sponsored by the Tourism Kamloops Marketing Society ("Sponsor"), with prizing generously donated by the following excellent donors: Graham Agassiz, Forbidden Bike Company, Chromag, Dakine, Sun Peaks Resort, and participating accommodation, food, beverage, shuttle, and bike Donors (the “Donors”).[NTD - List out all participating Donors then remove “and participating accommodation, food, beverage, shuttle, and bike Donors.”]
Eligibility
The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United States (excluding the states of New York and Florida) and the District of Columbia, who have reached the age of majority in their province, territory, or state of residence at the time of entry and who are permitted by the law of their province, territory, or state to participate in the Contest.
Employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of the Sponsor, the Donors, and their respective affiliates, licensors, associates, and advertising agencies, together with the immediate family members (parents, siblings, children, spouse or partner) of, and any persons domiciled in the same household as, any such employee, officer, director, agent, or representative, are not eligible to enter the Contest.
This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Sponsor reserves the right to limit or withdraw the Contest in, and to disqualify any entrant residing in or entering from, any jurisdiction in which the Contest cannot be lawfully conducted.
Contest Period
The Contest begins on July 8, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. PT and closes on October 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The Sponsor’s computer system is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.
How to Enter
There is no purchase necessary to enter the Contest.
To enter during the Contest Period, visit https://www.tourismkamloops.com/mtb-contest/ and complete the official entry form, including the entrant’s full name, email address, phone number, and city. All fields must be fully and accurately completed. An entry is complete only if all required information is submitted. Each entrant who completes the entry form receives 1 entry.
Newsletter subscription is not required to enter. An entrant who also opts in on the entry form to receive marketing emails from the Sponsor and Donors receives one (1) additional entry, for a maximum of two (2) entries per person. By opting in, the entrant also consents to the Sponsor sharing their contact information with the Donors so that the Donors may send them marketing emails. Entrants who choose to subscribe may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in each email.
Limit 1 entry form submission per person and per email address. Incomplete entries may be disqualified. Multiple entries made by a person using more than one email address for the same person will be disqualified. Entries made using bots, scripts, automated methods, or multiple email addresses, or entries submitted using methods that seek to submit more than 1 entry per person are void and will be disqualified.
Prize
One (1) Grand Prize is available consisting of:
- Graham Agassiz's custom Forbidden Dreadnaught freeride bike outfitted with his hand-selected Chromag package
- A 2 day visit to Kamloops in 2027 for 2 including riding and bike shuttles, 2 nights of accommodation, and food and drink vouchers
- 1 day lift ticket for 2 at the Sun Peaks Bike Park
- A limited-edition Dakine jersey and gloves signed by Graham Agassiz
- A Kamloops Freeride Lives Here swag pack including a shirt, socks, and water bottle
Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $[INSERT VALUE] CAD.
Travel to and from Kamloops is the responsibility of the prize winner and guest. Transportation to and from Sun Peaks Resort is included. The winner and guest are responsible to arrange and pay for all transportation to and from and within Kamloops, travel insurance, emergency medical insurance, meals not included in the prize, personal expenses, and any other costs not specifically identified as part of the prize.
The prize must be redeemed by October 31, 2027. Blackout dates and availability restrictions may apply.
Prizes must be accepted as offered and no substitutions are allowed. Prizes are not transferable and are not convertible to cash. The Sponsor and Donors reserve the right to make reasonable substitutions in the event of non-availability of any prize.
Used Bicycle Disclaimer
The Forbidden Dreadnaught bicycle included in the prize package is a previously used bicycle and is awarded "as is." The Sponsor and all Donors make no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the condition, safety, performance, merchantability, maintenance, or fitness of the bicycle for any purpose.
The winner accepts the bicycle entirely at their own risk and assumes full responsibility for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and safely operating the bicycle following receipt. The Sponsor and all Donors disclaim any liability for injury, death, damage, loss, or claims arising from possession or use of the bicycle.
Winner Selection
One (1) potential winner will be selected by random draw conducted by the Sponsor from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. All determinations of winners by the Sponsor are final and binding.
The draw will take place on or about October 16, 2026.
The selected entrant will be contacted using the email address provided at entry within three (3) business days of the draw. If the selected entrant fails to respond within five (5) business days, is found to be ineligible, declines the prize, fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, or fails to comply with these Official Rules, another entrant may be selected.
Skill-Testing Question
Canadian residents selected as the potential winner must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question without assistance before being declared the official winner.
Odds of Winning
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
Taxes
The winner is solely responsible for any federal, state, provincial, territorial, or local taxes, duties, fees, or other costs associated with accepting or using the prize unless otherwise required by law. The Sponsor may require the winner to complete and return tax or identity forms as a condition of receiving the prize, and the Sponsor may report the prize value and withhold amounts as required by law.
Release of Liability
By participating in this Contest and, in the case of the winner, accepting the prize, entrants and the winner agree to release, hold harmless, and indemnify the Sponsor and each Donor, and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, representatives, suppliers, and agents, from any liability for any harm, injuries, losses, damages, claims, or expenses arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of any prize, travel, mountain biking or cycling activities, including without limitation costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light.
Publicity
Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of the prize constitutes the winner's consent for the Sponsor and Donors to record, retain, and use the winner's name, city or state/province of residence, likeness, photographs, and statements for promotional purposes in any media without compensation.
Privacy
Personal information collected through this Contest will be used by the Sponsor to administer and promote the Contest and contact the selected winner. For entrants who opt in to receive marketing emails, personal information will also be used to send marketing communications from the Sponsor and the Donors. The Sponsor will share the contact information of entrants who opt in with the Donors so that the Donors may send their own marketing communications.
Personal information will be collected, stored, and used in accordance with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. Entrants who opt in may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in any email.
General Conditions
The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, modify, or terminate the Contest if fraud, technical failures, viruses, unauthorized intervention, or any other factor beyond its reasonable control interferes with the proper administration of the Contest.
The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, violates these Official Rules, or engages in conduct that is fraudulent or disruptive to the Contest or contrary to the best interests of the Sponsor or any Donor.
The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries, or for any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of entries.
If any provision of these Official Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Governing Law
The Contest is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada. These Official Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
