LGBTQ2S+

Kamloops is diverse, inclusive and love-positive.

Kamloops is ideally located between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies and offers a warm welcome to LGBTQ2+ travellers. In all four seasons, this outdoor playground and unique landscape lends to the soft adventurer. The vibrant downtown boasts a myriad of local flavours, showcases seasonal events and embraces arts and culture.

Celebrate LGBTQ2+ culture with Kamloops Pride Week every August. The week’s roster of dances, parties, comedy, drag, youth focussed events, and of course, the annual pride parade is a true celebration of inclusivity and diversity. Pride Week is organized by Kamloops Pride to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer/questioning and two-spirit (LGBTQ2S+) people in the Kamloops area.

Kamloops is home to one of BC's newest wine regions - the Thompson Valley, 5 craft breweries, 2 cideries, and 3 distilleries.  Experience Kamloops community with several annual events including Brewloops, the Kamloops Film Festival, and the Kamloops Wine Festival.

In winter, hit the slopes for some skiing at Sun Peaks Resort and Harper Mountain. Sun Peaks Resort hosts Peak Pride each winter featuring comedy shows, DJ’s, a parade and more.  Other Kamloops activities include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing.

Tourism Kamloops is proud to be Rainbow Registered. When you see a Rainbow Registered badge, you can feel confident that the organization has met a stringent set of criteria to ensure LGBT+ customers feel safe, welcomed, and accepted. We are stoked to be part of a national network of LGBT+ inclusive organizations.
