Kamloops is diverse, inclusive and love-positive.
Kamloops is ideally located between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies and offers a warm welcome regardless of how you identify on the gender, identity or sexuality spectrum. In all four seasons, our outdoor playground and diverse landscape lends to the soft adventurer and our vibrant downtown boasts a myriad of local flavours, showcases seasonal events and embraces our love of arts and culture. Kamloops is also home to the new Thompson Valley wine region, 5 craft breweries and a new craft cidery.
Winter is just as fun. Snowshoeing, ice fishing and Nordic skiing are local favourites. There are also two downhill ski options, Sun Peaks Resort and Harper Mountain, less than an hour’s drive from the city.
Visit during one of our annual events including Brewloops, the International Buskers Festival, Kamloopa Powwow, and Ribfest for action-packed fun. And, Kamloops Pride Week takes place every August. The week’s roster of dances, parties, comedy and drag events, and annual pride parade are a true celebration of inclusivity.
