Known internationally as Canada’s Tournament Capital,  Kamloops has been synonymous with a multitude of world-class  sporting  events. With a wide variety of outstanding venues, strong athletic culture and a knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteer base.  Sport Tourism has long been recognized by city council and key community stakeholders as a  large part  of the city’s economic generator.

BC Lions Training Camp

The Lions are scheduled to stage a 3-day mini camp for first-year Lions from Thursday, May 25 to Saturday, May 27 with the full team hitting the field on Sunday, May 28.

The Kamloops International Bantam Ice Hockey Tournaments is one of the biggest minor hockey tournaments in BC, and will be in Kamloops January 3-8, 2018.

Indoor Grandfondo

The Kamloops Indoor Gran Fondo is an inclusive cycling extravaganza. If you are interested in indoor cycling but you do not have a bike trainer, don’t be afraid to ask organizers for help.

Dirty Feet Trail Series

Ride your bike as part of team or take the trail on solo. Either way, come out and ride on some awesome mountain bike trails during a 6-hour relay. Keep an eye out for snowshoe and running based events.

Boogie the Bridge

Large scale community-centered event offers 5km, 10km or 21km options for runners and walkers—there’s even a kid-friendly Mini Boogie. The not-for-profit organization behind Boogie recently celebrated it’s 20th year, and raises funds for two different local charities each year.

Kamloops Marathon

The Sport Chek Kamloops Marathon started as a partnership between the City of Kamloops and Thompson Rivers University in 2012. As a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, the race attracts high level quality runners on a national level, with a growing number of international racers as well.
