For those of you who hear the word marina and instantly tune out because you don't have a boat, stay tuned, because Bruker Marina is a hidden gem for a fun, family adventure. My wife and I are always looking for places to take the kids, especially in these interesting times where we want to keep them safe, but still, allow them to have some fun. Bruker Marina and Beach Club is one of many Kamloops beaches that is only a short trip from Kamloops to cool off on a hot day.

Situated on the 29km long Kamloops Lake, Bruker Marina offers expansive views of the open water and award-winning Tobiano Golf Course. Bruker Marina is one of the main access points to Kamloops Lake. The fully equipped rental company offers the option to rent watersports gear and safety equipment without having to transport them. If it’s your first time visiting, the knowledgeable staff will assist you with getting your rental gear sized properly.

At Bruker Marina, rent a sea-doo or one of 15 other options from their rental fleet including kayaks, SUPs, boats, pontoon boats, and more. Launch your own boat from the paved boat launch for $25, which includes parking, and spend the day on Kamloops Lake.

If you don't have the budget, time, or desire to rent a boat or paddling equipment, simply hang out at the beach and just pay $20 for parking. Kids can play on the playground, build sandcastles, or take a dip and swim to the dock with a slide.

Have lunch at the Dockside Grill, a floating restaurant at the marina. Grab a table on the rooftop of the floating store, or picnic on the beach.  Choose from lighter fare options like a wrap or salad or go with the kid-friendly options of pizza, burgers, and hotdogs. Quench your thirst with a cold drink - adult options included. Kids and those young at heart can’t miss the 22 flavours of ice cream, freezies, and the floating candy store.

From Kamloops, head west along Highway 1 and follow the signs to Tobiano Golf Course. Turn at the Tobiano exit and follow the Marina signs that will guide you down towards the lake.

Parking: There are 2 places to park. One location is for members only and it's across the train tracks, closest to the marina. For non-members, follow the signs to Lot B, which is located just before you cross the train tracks. There's a parking attendant that will collect $20 from you to cover the cost of parking for the day.
